In the words of former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram G. Rajan, “The country can become an educational hub for African and Asian countries if it builds world-class universities”. This statement of his is not without evidence. In this context, the rapidly developing private universities of India have been enabling students to become independent such that the country is soon becoming an educational hub for African as well as Asian students. These universities have been focusing their curriculum on empowering students to create jobs rather than compete for the limited number of jobs in the corporate sector. This is one of the main reasons, India is rapidly becoming an educational hub for African and Asian students in recent years.

The Government of India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry along with the Confederation of Indian Industry hosted a summit in 2019 to discuss the transformation of India into an educational hub for African countries. Since the private education sector in India constitutes more than 200 universities and 30,000 colleges, students from African countries are offered ample choices to pursue their careers in the country. Moreover, the high student-teacher ratio in the colleges and universities of African countries makes India a legitimate choice as an educational hub for African students.
